Introducing the RV15 valve microphone, our flagship / top-of-the-range model. If you need that undeniable valve sound then the RV15 is the valve microphone for you. As with all our products, it features top quality components throughout and the end result is a genuine world-class microphone. We can talk about warmth, transparency, air and all those other buzzwords but we’d really rather you heard this mic for yourself. The latest revision of our flagship model comes with revised PSU and upgraded valve.
Although the RV15 is a large diaphragm microphone, unlike our condenser microphones, it doesn’t need to be connected to a source of phantom power. That’s because the RV15 comes with it’s own dedicated power supply. Using the audio cable provided, simply connect the RV15 to the power supply. You then attach one end of your (XLR) audio cable to the power supply and the other end to your audio interface. Do not attempt to connect the RV15 to an alternative power source.
Why do I need a valve microphone?
Quite simply, the sound that a good valve microphone produces is in our opinion, unsurpassed. The RV15 is no exception, combining detail, richness and warmth. It’s the choice of many for:
- voice-over work
- radio and tv broadcast
- male / female vocals
- acoustic instruments
As with all our microphones, these are just suggestions – there are no hard and fast rules. We want you to experiment and be creative!
