"II have to admit to ordering this mic [RV6] with a fair bit of advance scepticism, but after continually and almost monotonously coming across impressively positive reviews from people who’s names I have long respected and trusted in the industry over quite a number of years, I finally thought OK, what the hell, what can I lose? Forty nine quid!! And I can’t even lose that. ‘Cos if you don’t like it you take it back. How bad is that? That sounds like “on approval” to me. It also sounds like a healthy confidence in what you’re selling. I also have to admit to quite a huge chunk of curiosity - like I now want to see what this is all about.

Having been in the music game a fair old number of years I’ve met up with most of the top-end condensers in my time, and owned quite a few too. Well, I ordered it and it arrived pronto the very next day. I now see what all the buzz is about. I can only paraphrase pretty much what’s already been said. Everything about it, from the case it arrived in to the regular mount, the windshield, and the fine cradle mount (which incidentally I’ve paid a good deal more for just on it’s own) through to the star itself, which gives a mighty shock when you first pick it up. It weighs a ton and is built like a tank. Kinda’ like the reverse of picking up the empty kettle that you thought was full.

Looks are fine, but not worth a candle if it don’t sound much. Well, your baby keeps well up with the visual bit. Truly astonishing. I still can’t quite believe what I’m handling and, most importantly, hearing at the price I’ve paid. Can’t start to imagine what your top range models are like…. but guess I’ll soon be finding out . .

Hats off to you guys. You know the last barrier between the top end pro studio and home recordist has always been the mic. All the other stuff has steadily come into range, but the mic has always kept esoterically and stratospherically priced out of it for most home studio people. You have removed the last and one of the most impregnable bastions for the home studio. Your gear can stand up there with the best of them at dam near any price. Congratulations for helping to remove the barriers. You deserve to make big waves".
