I've
recorded lovely female vocals in my studio and also used them
as
overheads over very loud drummers in live jams on several
occasions. They
work very well and are very robustly built. One of them was
tumbled by the drummer and contacted a studio wall with a
bit of a thump, but due to there solid construction it was
totally unmarked and unaffected by the experience.

I have, and my good mate of mine who also has a studio (but
a proper one rather than the home-recording setup that I have
in my sitting room), was so impressed by the review and by
seeing and handling my RV8s that he is likely to be buying

Although
I bought the RV8 for vocals in the studio, so far I've only
really used it for live recording and performance of tenor
sax. My sax player reckons it makes her sound like Stan
Getz.. I need to conduct some tests though as either there
is a weird distortion, or it handles clipping a lot better
than other mics. I can't really compare it to other LDC
mics as this is the first I've used in anger, but for the
price I can't really complain!
